Jewish holiday prompts the one-time-only change

The Hamptons Intl. Film Festival has shifted out of its traditional dates for this year’s edition, moving from Columbus Day weekend to Oct. 13-17.

Fest made the move so it doesn’t coincide with Yom Kippur, which this year falls on Oct. 8. Next year the fest plans to revert to its usual spot, skedding 2012 dates for Oct. 4-8.

Over the coming year, HIFF also aims to continue the expansion of its year-round programming with partners including New York’s Museum of Modern Art and East Hampton venue Guild Hall.

Pics screened at last year’s fest included “Black Swan,” “Blue Valentine,” “The King’s Speech” and “Barney’s Version.”
