Haley Ramm, the young star of MTV’s “Worst. Prom. Ever.,” has been cast as Jason Bateman’s daughter in the indie drama “Disconnect,” which is being produced by Liddell Entertainment and Wonderful Films.
Henry-Alex Rubin (“Murderball”) is directing from Andrew Stern’s script, which follows a large ensemble of characters who are affected — and in some cases destroyed — by the Internet and other forms of modern communication. Ramm will play a popular but self-absorbed high school student whose younger brother falls victim to an online hoax perpetrated by two of his classmates.
In addition to Bateman, pic stars Alexander Skarsgard, Paula Patton, Frank Grillo, Andrea Riseborough, Colin Ford and Michael Nyqvist. Mickey Liddell and Marc Forster are producing “Disconnect” along with William Horberg and Jennifer Hilton.
Ramm, repped by Wendi Niad of Niad Management, recently starred in Anthony Burns’ “Skateland” and appeared in Kevin Smith’s “Red State.” She previously played young Jean Grey in Brett Ratner’s “X-Men: The Last Stand.”
