H20, Traction spin ‘Vinyl’

Shingles team up for rock'n'roll laffer

Toronto– H2O Motion Pictures and Traction Media are banding together for Sara Sugarman’s Welsh comedy “Vinyl,” based on a 2004 rock’n’roll swindle, the companies jointly announced Sunday morning.

Pic about washed-up punk rockers who release a single under a fictitious moniker stars “Quadrophenia” thesps Phil Daniels and Perry Benson, Keith Allen and Jamie Blackley. Sugarman (“Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”) penned the script and also produced with John H. Williams (“Shrek” trilogy).

H2O and Traction H2O also pacted on Toronto helmer David Weaver’s new thriller “The Samaritan,” starring Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Wilkinson, and are showing select footage to buyers in Toronto this week.
