Animation award to be presented Oct. 24

“Rango” will receive the Hollywood Film Festival’s animation award.

Kudo, announced Tuesday, will presented at the festival’s awards ceremony on Oct. 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon Movies feature was directed by Gore Verbinski and voiced by Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Harry Dean Stanton, Ray Winstone and Timothy Olyphant.

Past recipients of the fest’s animation award include “Cars,” “Ratatouille,” “Toy Story 3,” “Up,” and “Wall-E.”
