Chairman-CEO has steered Par to No. 2 market share 3 years running

Paramount Pictures chairman-CEO Brad Grey has reupped with the studio through 2017.

The studio had no comment on the extension, but sources confirmed the extension to Variety. When the deal was finalized was not known.

Grey will continue to run the studio along with vice chairman Rob Moore and film group president Adam Goodman.

Since coming on as chairman-CEO in 2005, Grey has seen his fair share of ups and downs, including a very public divorce with DreamWorks, which parted ways with the studio in 2006.

Under Grey, the studio ranked No. 2 in market share among the major studios in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and looks to take the top spot in 2011.
