Favex bows one-stop Internet shop at Cannes
Finland takes to the air Monday when its international film promo body Favex launches a one-stop internet location guide at www.filmland.fi.
The site brings together the latest details on local productions, talent and filming locations, along with contact details for the five regional film commissions.
The country’s film industry is taking off. “Rare Exports” a Santa Claus-themed thriller about the darker side of Christmas, made waves internationally and Nazis-on-the-moon spoof “Iron Sky” is building awareness ahead of its April 2012 release.
“Iron Sky’s” clever Internet campaign includes raising $500,000 in crowd funding towards its $10 million budget.
Pic has already sold to Australia, New Zealand, China, German-speaking Europe and Finland. Producers are in Cannes to drum up interest elsewhere.
