Recent activity leader 'Dark Knight' on break

Last week’s offlot feature filming in Los Angeles fell to its lowest level in six months as “The Dark Knight Rises” took a break from shooting after leading activity for six weeks in a row.

Feature shoots totalled 81 days — lower than any other week since April 11-18. Indie drama “Smashed” racked up 16 permitted days last week, according to figures provided Tuesday by the FilmL.A. permitting agency.

Total feature days permitted last week were down 43% from the same week last year as Warner Bros.’ “Gangster Squad” also took a break from shooting. Feature activity rose 50% during the third quarter and averaged 160 days per week.

Other features currently shooting in Los Angeles include Ben Affleck’s “Argo,” “Death of the Sheik,” “Silky Smooth Individual,” “The Vortex” and “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.”

Total permitted production days declined 15% to 604 last week.

TV shooting declined 7% to 386 days, with “Criminal Minds” the most active last week with 10 days. Other TV productions currently shooting include “Awake,” “Parenthood,” “Private Practice,” “Ringer,” “House of Cassini,” “Pacquiao-Marquez 24/7″ and “After Lately.”

Commercial shooting was down 7% to 137 days with a GDF commercial shot racking up the most days at 14.
