French actress Eva Green is in talks to join the cast of Warner Bros.’ “Dark Shadows” opposite Johnny Depp and Bella Heathcote with Tim Burton directing.
Green would portray the temptress Angelique, a role played by Lara Parker in the supernatural TV soap opera during its run from 1966 to 1971. Green’s best known for her portrayal of Vesper Lynde in “Casino Royale,” and has starred recently in “Womb,” “Cracks” and “Perfect Sense.”
Depp has long been attached to play the vampire Barnabas Collins while Heathcote would play a waitress who resembles Collins’ long-lost love.
Seth Grahame-Smith has penned the script, and Depp, Graham King, Richard Zanuck, Christi Dembrowski and David Kennedy are producing. Warner Bros. acquired the rights from show creator Dan Curtis in 2007 but it hasn’t yet set a release date.
Green is repped by UTA and Tavistook Wood.
