He'll play 'Roadblock' in the pic directed by Jon Chu
Fresh off a blockbuster turn in “Fast Five,” Dwayne Johnson is in talks to star in Paramount’s “G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.”
Jon Chu (“Justin Bieber: Never Say Never”) is directing the 3D sequel, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick penning the script. Par had no comment on the casting.
Johnson will play Roadblock, one of the franchise’s most prominent African American characters. Roadblock is also one of the largest and strongest G.I. Joe characters, and is an aspiring chef who prepares food for his fellow soldiers.
Johnson was a new addition to Universal’s car-racing franchise, which crossed the $200 million mark at the domestic B.O. He is repped by WME.
