Summit’s tapped the scripting team of Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan to pen its adaptation of “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus” with a possibility of directing.
Summit confirmed the signing Thursday, nine months after acquiring film and TV rights to the “Mars-Venus” franchise based on the book series written by John Gray. Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun will produce the film project via their BermanBraun banner.
The initial book, which led to more than a dozen “Mars-Venus” titles, was originally published by Harper Collins in 1992. More than 50 million books have been sold in over 45 territories.
Elfont and Kaplan’s writing credits include “Leap Year,” “Made of Honor,” “Josey and the Pussycats,” “Surviving Christmas” and “Can’t Hardly Wait.” Upcoming projects include “Big Man on Campus,” “99 Problems,” “Sisters of Mercy,” “Red Tails in Love” and “Repeat After Me.”
Elfont and Kaplan are repped by CAA and BenderSpink.
