Collins, Pierce set to star in thriller
Clifton Collins Jr. and Wendell Pierce have come aboard the thriller “Parker.”
Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez are set to star with Taylor Hackford at the helm.
Based on the book series by Donald Westlake, story revolves around a thief who, though at times is forced to be a killer, still lives by a code of honor that includes never stealing money from people who need it. His word is his bond, and if he is crossed he will strike back relentlessly.
Helmer Taylor Hackford will produce along with Steven Chasman, Les Alexander, Sidney Kimmel and Jonathan Mitchell from a script by John J. McLaughlin., who most recently co-penned “Black Swan.”
Film District will distribute, with Sierra/Affinity, Incentive and Kimmel financing the film.
Collins most recently finished shooting “Hellbenders” for Circle of Confusion. Pierce can currently be seen on HBO’s “Treme.”
Collins is repped by APA, Kim Callahan and attorney David Krintzman. Pierce is repped by Paradigm and Essential Talent Management.
