The Walt Disney Co. has hired Mike Castellano, an adviser to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), as VP of U.S. government relations.
Castellano will work on a range of issues with a focus on trade and intellectual property.
Richard Bates, senior VP of U.S. government relations, cited Castellano’s “experience with complex issues, ability to reach across the aisle and Congressional chambers and dealings with foreign officials” in announcing Castellano’s hire.
Castellano was most recently senior counsel and senior policy adviser to Reid, focusing on intellectual property, international trade and cyber security.
He also spent four years working for the House Ways and Means Committee and for Rep. Sander Levin (D-Mich.). He started his career at Dewey Ballantine LLP.
