Dimension nabs ‘Clone’ rights

Ricourt to adapt sci-fi novel for big screen

EXCLUSIVE: Dimension Films has preemptively acquired futuristic comedy guidebook “How to Defeat Your Own Clone” by Kyle Kurpinski and Terry D. Johnson.

Ed Ricourt will adapt “Clone” for the bigscreen. Ricourt, an alum of Marvel’s writing program, also wrote the feature treatment.

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Gotham Group’s Eric Robinson will produce. Gotham’s Peter McHugh will exec produce with Dimension’s senior VP of production Matthew Stein and VP of production and creative affairs Matthew Signer overseeing for the company.

Pic tells the story of a man trying to help humans dominate over clones after a biotech revolution.

Ricourt also penned “Now You See Me,” currently in pre-production with Jesse Eisenberg starring and Louis Leterrier directing.
