Membership vote to conclude by year-end

The Directors Guild of America’s national board has approved a tentative three-year successor commercial contract to be sent to the membership for ratification.

New agreement, announced Monday, would begin Dec. 1 if ratified.

Pact includes a 2% yearly hike in minimums plus a wage increase of 15.8% for 2nd 2nd assistant directors in the first year of the contract and a 17.65% increase in the employer contribution rate for all members plus additional contributions for directors.

Negotiations took place during three separate periods over the past few months with the Assn. of Independent Commercial Producers. Associate national executive director/eastern executive director Russ Hollander led the negotiations committee for the DGA.

The guild said negotiations concluded last month and the board voted unanimously at its meeting Saturday to send the contract to the membership.

Ratification ballots will be due back before the end of the year.
