With 30 permitted shooting days in Los Angeles, Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” helped boost last week’s overall offlot production 33% from the same frame last year, according to figures provided by the FilmL.A. permitting agency.
Total permitted production days climbed to 739 last week, a substantial increase over last year’s total of 555. Television increased from 314 to 424 permitted days while commercial spots jumped from 125 to 148.
In features, “Dark Knight,” shooting under the title “Magnus Rex,” was king. Other productions filming in L.A. last week included “Savages” and the untitled Judd Apatow comedy.
“Cool Life” led the television production pack at 34 permitted days; “90210” was also lensing.
A Hyundai commercial shot the most out of any spots last week with 25 days.
