YouTube hit to follow up debut with 3D feature

YouTube hit Fred Figglehorn, aka Lucas Cruikshank, is readying his second feature, the 3D “Night of the Living Fred” for Lionsgate, Varsity Pictures and the Collective.

Pic is a follow-up to telepic “Fred: The Movie” which aired on Nickelodeon and was released on DVD and theatrically by Lionsgate in the U.K.

Brian Robbins and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett of Varsity Pictures and Gary Binkow and Evan Weiss of the Collective will produce.

No plans are in place for domestic theatrical distribution, but Lionsgate has North American rights to the pic. Company also handles international distribution rights.

“Family Guy’s” David A. Goodman penned the script while John Fortenberry of “Blue Mountain State” will direct.

Cruikshank, who is repped by UTA, is reprising his starring role as fast-talking, hyperactive kid Fred Figglehorn, the character from his popular YouTube videos.
