Creative England opens two film funds

Promo org will dole out $625,000

Promo org Creative England opened the Development Fund and Film Networks Fund, backed by £400,000 ($625,600) in National Lottery coin, for applications on Monday.

Meant for individuals or teams of writers, helmers and producers, the Development Fund will aid with costs including screenplay development and presentations to financiers. The Film Network Fund will allocate money to networks and orgs dedicated to filmmaking in English regions.

Individual awards will range from $4,000 to $40,000. The talent development team will also provide brokerage and practical assistance to filmmakers for their projects.

The deadline for Film Network Fund applications is Jan. 30.

Launched on Oct. 1, Creative England is a British Film Institute-delegated body that distributes Lottery funds for films produced in English regions.
