After winning the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance earlier this year, “Like Crazy” director Drake Doremus is reteaming with his leading lady Felicity Jones, who’s attached to star in the helmer’s follow-up feature along with Guy Pearce and Amy Ryan.
Doremus will direct from a script he wrote with Ben York Jones. Pearce will play a high school teacher who is tempted to cheat on his wife (Ryan) with one of his students (Jones).
Super Crispy Entertainment principals Jonathan Schwartz and Andrea Sperling will produce along with Steven Rales and Mark Roybal from Indian Paintbrush, which is financing the pic, having co-acquired “Like Crazy” with Paramount out of Sundance.
Indian Paintbrush’s Peter McPartlin negotiated the project deals with Doremus’ attorney, Larry Kopeikin, and UTA’s Rich Klubeck and David Flynn.
Jones won a Special Jury Prize for her performance in “Like Crazy,” which Par will release Oct. 28.
Pearce next stars in FilmDistrict’s creature feature “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” while Ryan was last seen in Tom McCarthy’s “Win Win.”
