Costume Designers Guild to honor Weiss

Will receive Disaronno Career Achievement trophy

Julie Weiss will receive this year’s Disaronno Career Achievement in Film and Television Award at the Costume Designers Guild Awards.

Weiss has won two Emmys and two CDG awards for her costume design and was nominated for Oscars for “Frida” and “Twelve Monkeys.” Additional credits include “American Beauty,” “Steel Magnolias,” “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” “Blades of Glory,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Get Low” and “No Strings Attached.” She’s also been nominated for multiple Emmys, CDG awards and a BAFTA.

Diane Lane, whose costumes Weiss designed for “Secretariat,” Billy Bob Thornton and Robert Duvall will present the award at the Feb. 22 gala. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore will introduce a montage highlighting Weiss’ career.
