J.T. Petty to direct supernatural pic

Clifton Collins is set to star in the supernatural pic “Hellbenders” with J.T. Petty on to direct.

The script, also penned by Petty, is about a secret group of elite demonologists in a Brooklyn diocese who battle a terrifying supernatural force that threatens their lives and faith.

The 3D film also stars Clancy Brown and Dan Fogler and goes into production next week.

Lawrence Mattis, Jon Denny and David Moscow will produce through their Circle of Confusion shingle.

The pic is based on a graphic novel written by Petty, who recently sold his spec, “Zombies vs. Robots” to Sony.

Collins can currently be seen on the NBC skein “The Event.”

Collins is repped by Affirmative Entertainment and his attorney David Krintzman. Petty is repped by Gersh and Circle of Confusion.
