The Intl. Cinematographers Guild’s 49th Annual Publicists Awards has been set for Feb. 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, two days before the Academy Awards.
Categories include Motion Picture Showman of the Year, Television Showman of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Maxwell Weinberg Publicist Award for a Television Campaign and, separately, for a Movie Campaign, Les Mason Award for Career Achievement, Excellence in Unit Still Photography and the Bob Yeager Award for Community Service.
Monday’s announcement rounds out the guild awards show schedule for next year. The Producers Guild of America has set the Beverly Hilton as its sights on Jan. 21; the Directors Guild of America has opted to return to Hollywood and Highland for its 64th Annual Awards ceremonies on Jan. 28; the Screen Actors Guild’s awards ceremonies will take place Jan. 29 at its usual locale at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center; and the Writers Guild of America has set Feb. 19 at the Hollywood Palladium as the venue in Los Angeles.
The Century Plaza, once a favored venue for the publicists, PGA, WGA and DGA awards shows, will be shunned again next year by the guilds due to a labor dispute between unionized hotel workers and the Hyatt Corp.
