Exhibitor confab CinemaCon will award Miky Lee, vice-chairman of South Korean media conglom CJ Group, the CinemaCon Global Achievement in Exhibition Award.
The award is part of CinemaCon’s International Day held on March 28 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
“I don’t know if there is anyone more deserving of this first-time honor than Miky Lee,” said Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon. “Her global vision and dedication have lead to a film industry that thrives in Korea and crosses other borders, too.”
Lee co-founded the entertainment and media division with her brother Jay, in 1994 after leading the company to become one of the first investors in DreamWorks SKG. The pair later founded CJ CGV, the first and largest multiplex chain in South Korea.
CinemaCon, in its debut year under the leadership of the National Assn. of Theater Owners convention, runs March 28-31.
