Veteran production exec Chris Miller has been tapped as president of film finance operations for Exclusive Media Group and as new president of Spitfire Pictures.
Miller has been head of production for National Geographic Films Worldwide for three years and worked on Peter Weir’s “The Way Back,” a co-production with Exclusive, and “The Last Lions,” to be released in North America next month. In 2001, Miller co-founded Visionbox Media Group and Visionbox Pictures. He’s worked on “The Cooler,” “The Illusionist,” “The Matador,” “The Painted Veil,” “Darfur Now” and “Arctic Tale.”
“Chris Miller’s track record in the film industry speaks for itself,” said Guy East and Nigel Sinclair, co-chairmen of Exclusive.
Miller joins Tobin Armbrust, who remains head of production with a focus on the Hammer Films slate, and Matt Jackson, who will continue to focus on the Exclusive Films slate.
Hammer Films is in post-production on James Watkins’ “The Woman in Black,” starring Daniel Radcliffe; script is by Jane Goldman. Exclusive’s co-financing and co-producing George Clooney’s “The Ides of March,” starring Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood, and is producing and fully financing the action comedy “So Undercover
,” to be directed by Tom Vaughan (“What Happens in Vegas”) and starring Miley Cyrus.
