“Cars 2” opens the fest along with Sundance Select’s horse-whisperer doc “Buck.” Closing-night offering is Sony Pictures Classics’ “Higher Ground” from star-helmer Vera Farmiga.

Fest lineup also includes Sundance alums “Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey,” “Happy, Happy” and “Terri” as well as recent Tribeca screeners “The Last Rites of Joe May,” “Donor Unknown” and “When the Drum Is Beating.”

The 2011 Nantucket Fest, with an announced slate of 55 films so far, runs June 22-26.
