Brian De Palma to helm ‘Key Man’

Production expected to start early next year

Brian De Palma has come on board to direct thriller “The Key Man” for QED International and Safehouse Pictures, with production expected to start early next year.

QED’s financining “The Key Man.” Producers are QED topper Bill Block, Paul Hanson, scripter Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell.

Story follows a single father, who after finding himself the target of U.S. government agents, discovers his body contains the key to the nation’s deepest secrets.

Open Road Films announced last month has acquired domestic distribution rights to the conspiracy thriller with plans for a wide theatrical release and a significant P&A commitment.

De Palma directed Iraq drama “Redacted” and before that “The Black Dahlia.”
