Membership of European biz info body rises to 37

LONDON — Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined the European Audiovisual Observatory, bringing the org’s membership up to 37.

The Strasbourg, France-based body, which is backed by the Council of Europe, collects and distributes information on the film, television and video market, and is a key source of industry statistics.

Market and legal analysis will now be extended to include the Balkan state, which is home to a vibrant film industry and the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Kemal Huseinovic, head of Bosnia’s communications regulatory agency, who will represent the country on the Observatory’s executive council, said membership would help the country further integrate into European industry standards.
