Business manager Lee B. Winkler died of a heart attack Dec. 24 in Hollywood. He was 84.
Winkler started in the biz in 1970 and worked for Global Business Management, which has represented more than 250 clients over the years including John Ford, Anthony Hopkins, Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Jonathan Demme.
He executive produced several films including Fred Williamson starrers “Joshua” and “Mean Johnny Barrows.”
Also in 1970, Winkler was awarded knighthoods by both the Holy Cross of Jerusalem and the Sovereign Order of Cyprus.
“When he took you on as a client, he adopted you as a friend, a father figure, a confidant,” said scribe Ernest Thompson (“On Golden Pond”).
Winkler is survived by his wife, Maria, a son and a daughter, plus one brother.
