Universal puts 'This is 40' up against 'Life of Pi,' 'World War Z,' more
Universal has dated Judd Apatow’s adult laffer “This is 40” for a Dec. 21, 2012, release.
The film, which reunites Apatow with Jason Segel, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann reprising their roles from “Knocked Up,” looks to benefit from increased Christmastime filmgoing as potential counterprogramming.
Also bowing that date include Fox’s feature adaptation of bestselling novel “Life of Pi,” Relativity Media’s Phillip Noyce actioner “Hunter Killer” and Paramount’s Brad Pitt starrer “World War Z.” Sony’s Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal untitled project about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden bows Dec. 19.
“This is 40” co-stars Megan Fox, Melissa McCarthy and Albert Brooks. U already is test screening the film.
