Garner, Harden also attached to adaptation

Exclusive: Andrew Garfield, Jennifer Garner and Marcia Gay Harden are attached to star in Infinity Media’s adaptation of Tawni O’Dell’s bestselling novel “Back Roads.”

Adrian Lyne is set to direct the Pennsylvania-set murder mystery from a screenplay he co-wrote with O’Dell, whose novel was an Oprah’s Book Club selection in March 2000.

Garfield will star as a young man who is forced to care for his three younger sisters after their mother is sent to prison for killing her abusive husband.

Garner will play one of the family’s neighbors who becomes romantically involved with the Garfield character, while Harden will play his court-appointed therapist.

Several high-profile young actresses are being considered to play two of Garfield’s sisters.

Infinity’s Michael Ohoven (“Capote”) is producing with Dan Spilo. Kevin Turen will exec produce. Production is tentatively set for June.

Garfield is repped by CAA and Gordon and French. WME and Management 360 rep Garner, while Harden is repped by UTA and Framework Entertainment. ICM reps Lyne and Ken Sherman & Associates reps O’Dell along with Liza Dawson Associates.
