Anders, Morris in talks for Sandler comedy

Helming duo eye 'I Hate You Dad'

Exclusive: Sean Anders and John Morris, two of the hottest comedy writers in Hollywood, are in talks to direct the Adam Sandler-Andy Samberg comedy “I Hate You Dad” for Columbia Pictures.

It’s the directorial debut for Morris, while Anders previously helmed “Sex Drive,” which the duo also wrote.

Sandler will play a father who moves in with his son (Samberg) and his fiancee, only to immediately start feuding with the bride-to-be.

David Caspe wrote the original script, while David Wain and Ken Marino (“Wanderlust”) performed a rewrite.

Sandler is producing through his Happy Madison banner.

Anders and Morris wrote “Sex Drive” for Summit, “She’s Out of My League” for Paramount and “Hot Tub Time Machine” for MGM. The duo most recently penned “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” for 20th Century Fox.

Anders and Morris are repped by CAA and Mosaic.
