Banderas thriller skedded for second quarter release
Anchor Bay Films has nabbed rights to Antonio Banderas thriller “The Big Bang” and skedded it for a release in the second quarter of this year.Distrib also nabbed rights for Blighty, Australia and New Zealand. While the pic is not a Sundance title, final details of the deal were inked in Park City. Hannibal Pictures CEO Richard Rionda Del Castro and Gary Howsam arranged financing with the support of Standard Chartered Bank, Rollercoaster Entertainment, Blue Rider Pictures and North by Northwest Entertainment. Pic, which also stars William Fichtner and Sienna Guillory, was produced by Del Castro along with Flame Ventures’ Tony Krantz, who helmed, and Erik Jendresen, who penned the script. Exec producers are Howsam, Patricia Eberle, Lewin Webb, Richard Salvatore and Ross Dinerstein. Deal was negotiated by Del Castro and WME’s Graham Taylor with Bill Clark, Kevin Kasha and Richard Turner for Anchor Bay.
