Partners with Collective,

Days after inking its indie distribution venture with Regal Entertainment, AMC Theaters has diversified again by forming a genre label with partners the Collective and horror website

Through the distrib deal, AMC will screen one horror title each month, at least twice a week, in 32 major Stateside markets. Sked is slatted to start in May with pics “Cold Fish,” “Rammbock” and “Yellow Brickroad.”

The Collective, an entertainment management and content company, plans to acquire horror pics from major film festivals.

Beyond theatrical releases, the genre venture will make the films available on DVD via Collective’s homevid partnership with Vivendi Universal, featuring bonus content and unrated features. Pics also will be released through alternate distrib platforms, including video-on-demand, online streaming and TV.
