‘Verbo’ to world preem at San Sebastian

'Three Musketeers' to play at Velodrome

MADRID — Eduardo Chapero Jackson’s fantasy thriller “Verbo” will world preem at the San Sebastian Film Festival in the Velodrome, the event’s largest venue.

The helmer took the European Film Academy award for best short in 2007 with “Alumbramiento.” “Verbo” is his feature film debut.

Produced by Telecinco Cinema and Apaches Ent., “Verbo” is about a troubled young girl who enters an alternate dimension.

Aurum Producciones bows the film Nov. 4 in Spanish theaters.

The Velodrome, which has a 4,306 square-foot screen and 3,000 seat capacity, is the fest’s biggest auditorium.

Another highlight at the site will be the Spanish premiere of Paul W.S. Anderson’s “The Three Musketeers” in a 3D screening.

French toon pic “A Cat in Paris,” acquired by Basque distrib Barton Films, will also screen at the Velodrome.

The venue also screens Nicolas Winding Refn’s action thriller “Drive,” a Cannes fest hit, which will close the Zabaltegi-Pearls section, and the world premiere of Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache’s comedy “Untouchable,” which is the fest’s closing film.

The event runs Sept. 16-24.
