In its sixth purchase at Cannes, Sundance Selects acquired U.S. rights to writer-director Maiwenn’s competition entry “Poliss” from Wild Bunch.
“Poliss,” which won the fest’s jury prize, was produced by Alain Attal and co-written by actress Emmanuelle Bercot, who also co-stars. The film centers on officers working in a child protection unit in Paris.
During the past week, Sundance Selects picked up U.S. rights to “Sleeping Beauty,” “Goodbye First Love
” and “The Kid With a Bike” and North American rights to “Snowtown
” and “House of Tolerance.”
The deal for “Poliss” was negotiated by Arianna Bocco and Betsy Rodgers for Sundance Selects with Wild Bunch on behalf of the filmmakers.
