Sundance Selects picks up ‘Poliss’

Distributor seals sixth deal at Cannes

In its sixth purchase at Cannes, Sundance Selects acquired U.S. rights to writer-director Maiwenn’s competition entry “Poliss” from Wild Bunch.

Poliss,” which won the fest’s jury prize, was produced by Alain Attal and co-written by actress Emmanuelle Bercot, who also co-stars. The film centers on officers working in a child protection unit in Paris.

During the past week, Sundance Selects picked up U.S. rights to “Sleeping Beauty,” “Goodbye First Love” and “The Kid With a Bike” and North American rights to “Snowtown” and “House of Tolerance.”

The deal for “Poliss” was negotiated by Arianna Bocco and Betsy Rodgers for Sundance Selects with Wild Bunch on behalf of the filmmakers.
