Film screens in dramatic competition
Sony Pictures Classics has snagged rights to Jeff Nichols’ Sundance entry “Take Shelter” for North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.
Pic, starring Michael Shannon, is in the dramatic competish at Sundance. Storyline follows an Ohio man who is mysteriously driven to build a storm shelter in his family’s backyard.
Tyler Davidson of Strange Matter Films and Sophia Lin produce, with exec producers Sarah Green, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Colin Strause, Greg Strause, Richard Rothfeld, Chris Perot and Christos Konstantakopoulos. CAA set up financing and brokered the deal with SPC.
