Helmer to attend Italo bow of 'Two Worlds'
ROME — Luc Besson will be feted by Italy’s 13th Future Film Festival dedicated to new film technologies and animation, where the Gallic multi-hyphenate will attend the bow of his 3D kids’ fantasy “Arthur and the War of Two Worlds.”
The Bologna event, which runs April 20-23, is hailing Besson as “the most American French director of the past two decades.”
Fest will pay tribute to Besson’s work with screenings of a selection of his most cutting-edge blockbusters from an f/x standpoint, including “The Fifth Element” and “The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec.”
Headed by critics Giulietta Fara and Oscar Cosulich, the fest will dedicate a day to European 3D.
