Emmett/Furla Films and Envision Entertainment are partnering to establish a new $250 million revolving equity and debt fund to finance a new slate of “high-end, star-driven” commercial features.
The companies made the announcement during the Toronto Film Festival.
The new fund furthers the partnership between Emmett/Furla and Envision, who were introduced by Jeff Rice. The companies have teamed to finance and produce crime thriller “Broken City” starring Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe with Allen Hughes directing; thriller “Frozen Ground” starring Nicolas Cage and John Cusack; drama “Fire With Fire” starring Josh Duhamel, Bruce Willis and Rosario Dawson; and action thriller “Freelancers” starring Robert De Niro, Forest Whitaker and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
“There are no set restrictions on how or where capital from the fund is allocated, which allows for maximum flexibility in sourcing projects and material and collaborating with various partners to build a diverse slate,” the companies said.
Emmett/Furla has produced 55 films and is currently in pre-production on “Broken City” and “Frozen Ground” with both shooting this fall. The company also has two pics in post-production — Stephen Frears’ comedy “Lay the Favorite” starring Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta Jones, Rebecca Hall and Vince Vaughn, and crime thriller “End of Watch” starring Jake Gyllenhall and Anna Kendrick.
Emmett continues to co-run Cheetah Vision Films with partner Jackson, which produces features under its Lionsgate deal.
Martirosyan and Chase are partners in the Russian petroleum industry and on developments in Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Moscow and London.
