Twihards join 'Angry Birds' to play in San Diego
SAN DIEGO — Stan Lee ushered in preview night at Comic-Con with an appearance at Activision’s July 20 party, where the gamemaker helped show off “Spider-Man: Edge of Time” and “X-Men: Destiny” titles.As Twihards camped out for the next morning’s “Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part I” panel, Rovio’s “Angry Birds” mingled with guests poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel to celebrate the blockbuster mobile game’s appearance on Roku. “I expect to see a lot of people dressed up as Angry Birds,” said Rovio’s Marja Konttinen. At Petco Park, Relativity Media gave VIPs a sneak peek of its “Shark Night 3D,” with the pic’s Chris Carmack, Dustin Milligan, Katharine McPhee, Sara Paxton, director David Ellis and a bucking mechanical fish along for the ride. Bloggers from HitFix wrapped up the evening at the Salomar Hotel, with the dot-com projecting its logo on buildings to announce the geek meet as if it were the Batman symbol.
