Al-Daradji, Vegas and Erguven in mix

The Cannes Film Festival has unveiled 15 projects that will take part in the sixth Cinefondation Atelier, which arranges industry networking opportunities for directors and producers.

A strong Latin American presence includes “Escafandra,” from Argentinean documentarian Pablo Reyero, Mexican Celso Garcia’s rural drama “La delgada linea amarilla,” and “Mr. Kaplan,” a Uruguay-set social outcast dramedy, which is Alvaro Brechner’s follow-up to 2009’s “Bad Day to Go Fishing.”

Atelier will also promote “Augustine,” a period doctor-patient drama from France’s Alice Winocour; Georgian George Ovashvili’s “Khibula,” about a former president fleeing from power; Italian Fabio Mollo’s family secrets drama “Il sud e niente”; dysfunctional family drama “Wolf,” from Romania’s Bogdan Mustata; and Africa-set thriller “Hier,” helmed by Hungary’s Balint Kenyeres.
