PGA honors Spielberg with Selznick Award

Award will be presented at 23rd annual ceremony

The Producers Guild of America has selected Steven Spielberg to receive its David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Motion Pictures at the org’s upcoming awards fete.

Kudo will be presented to Spielberg at the 23rd annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony, set for Jan. 21 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“As one of the most prolific filmmakers of all time, Steven’s continued genius, imagination and fearlessness in the world of feature film entertainment is unmatched in this industry,” said Producers Guild Awards co-chairs Paula Wagner and Michael Manheim.

Spielberg has been particularly busy of late, helming two features set for release in December: “The Advnetures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn” and “War Horse.” He’s also been active on a slew of TV series from his DreamWorks TV banner, including Fox’s high-profile actioner “Terra Nova” and NBC’s upcoming tuner drama “Smash.”
