Oscars + Muppets = Synergy at Its Best!

KermieIt’s not a stretch to point out that having the Muppets host the Oscars, which appears to be gaining ground on Twitter and in a vocal corner of Variety’s offices, would be the ultimate synergistic partnership. ABC is the network that airs the Oscars; Disney owns the rights to the Muppets — can’t Bob Iger broker some kind of deal with the Academy and Brian Grazer? Kermit and Miss Piggy will have finished promoting their new film by then, so their schedules will be clear. Plus, they could do red-carpet interviews for the preshow and work well into the night covering the after parties. They’re Muppets, they don’t get tired! (Ok, this is the last theoretical Muppets post. Nothing more until the Academy makes this happen.)
