Morgan Freeman to receive DeMille Award

Actor honored at Golden Globes on Jan. 15

The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. announced Wednesday that veteran actor Morgan Freeman will receive the org’s Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is presented yearly for outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.

Freeman will be honored during the 69th annual Golden Globes ceremony on Jan. 15.

Freeman has won a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar for a career that spans more than four decades.

The announcement was made on Wednesday morning by Amy Adams and helmer Pedro Almodovar.
