It’s Official: Jennifer Aniston Lists Beverly Hills Mansion

SELLER: Jennifer Aniston
LOCATION: Beverly Hills, CA
PRICE: $42,000,000
SIZE: 10,000 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: A couple of weeks ago Your Mama passed along the celebrity real estate news that just months after completing and extensive expansion and flawless multi-million dollar renovation sitcom star and rom-com movie queen Jennifer Aniston had quietly floated her Hal Leavitt designed and Stephen Shadley re-worked residence in Beverly Hills, CA on the market with an astronomical asking price of $42,000,000.

We don’t typically like to toot our own horn, hunnies, but toot, toot, toot. Despite that fact that most major celebrity news and tabloid gossip outlets did not credit little ol‘ Your Mama with breaking the juicy story–you know who you are–we were indeed to first to let that particular cat out of the Bev Hills real estate bag.

Anyhoodles poodles, the official listing for Miss Aniston’s Asian and Balinese-inspired single-story sprawler called Ohana has finally hit the interweb and, just as we first revealed, the asking price is set at a bone chilling $42,000,000. Listing information shows the gated and (mostly) private mansion sits on nearly an acre of land and measures around 10,000 square feet with a total of 5 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms including the staff suite and expansive master bedroom outfitted for the perennially single Miss Aniston with two bathrooms that feature steam showers, sunken tubs and a Japanese Ofuro tub.

The voluminous but cozy living spaces include two living rooms–one with a wet bar and the other wrapped in deevoon rosewood paneling–several dining areas, a gourmet kitchen and a separate catering kitchen for large parties and events.

The wood, glass and stone residence is equipped with state-of-the-art smart house technology, extensive security systems, a home gym, an equipment room (whatever that is), heaps of storage space, a 3-car garage and motor court. The vast walls of floor to ceiling glass seamlessly merge the luxe interior spaces with the resort-style grounds that include large terraces, various water features and, natch, a celebrity style infinity-edged swimming pool and spa with 180-degree views from downtown to the Pacific Ocean.

Miss Aniston purchased the property in November of 2006 for $13,500,000.

Rumors and reports have swirled the last few weeks that the Emmy and Golden Globe winning Miss Aniston is contemplating a move to New York City where she moved with her family in the mid 1970s as a young girl and lived until the late 1980s when she relocated to Los Angeles. Maybe she is and maybe she isn’t moving to New York. We don’t really know. What we do know is that rumors of Miss Aniston’s real estate doings continue to slip down the gossip grapevine and into our inbox. Last week Hermione Hightower–a gal who has been inside Miss Aniston’s crib–told us that she heard one of the myriad of reasons that Miss Aniston wants to sell her newly completed crib is that the residents on the north side of the star-studded Sierra Towers building have a magnificent view into her backyard.

Although it’s hard for us to actually believe, this week it was whispered in Your Mama’s ear by a trusted informant that Miss Aniston recently went for a look-see at the Beverly Park mega-mansion owned by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Lisa Vanderpump, listed off-market with a spine tingling asking price of $29,000,000. For a woman who publicly stated that–and we paraphrase–that her house was too big and grand for her a mansion in Beverly Park would be little more than jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

I usually agree with you. However, she paraded this house publicly in AD and I think the asking price is out-of-whack. If she didn’t want for people to comment on her, make this a pocket/off-market listing and don’t show your house to the public in magazines like AD.

I love how people blog as if they know a person or have some knowledge of the person. I also
love how everyone can and is making assumptions on the house based on 5 photos. Doesn’t the house have 5 bedrooms, 7 1/2 baths, a formal dinning room, living room, entertainment room and so very much more. There is no way to tell what the house is or isn’t worth without seeing the entire home.

To the last poster: 3/8/11 10:32…I am so THANKFUL you posted here! That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking reading everyone’s comments. you hit it on the nose with ENVIOUS!! You were the ONLY one here who had any common sense and humanity!

I cannot believe how many people on here comment about Ms. Aniston’s “character” on here like they know anything at all about her. I clicked on the link for this page because I was interested to see what her home looks like and read the article, and I am not an “experienced ‘commenter'” — this may be about my 5th time to ever post on an open forum — but I expected to see comments about the home. And I am amazed at how many people have the gall to call someone they don’t know things like “cold”, and say things like “no wonder Brad left her”, etc. I do not know a single person on here, but it makes me ashamed to even be in the same species as those of you who are so obviously petty, callous, ENVIOUS, and ignorant. She is indeed a celebrity, which is the life she chose, but how do you think she feels when she comes across pages such as these about her and reads peoples’ remarks about what kind of person she “is” (according to those ignorant people, anyways)? You could all very well be right. But the point is: you don’t know her, and you can’t know she is who you say she is with a fact. And I don’t care if she’s a multi-million dollar celebrity, she still has feelings. And if you have nothing nice to say, go look in the mirror and say it to yourself!

What a cold hard a lonely looking place. I’m a contractor, she’d be a DREAM to work for-they must have literally charged her multilple millions in profit if that’s all the property has to offer..

Now we no why Brad dump her, she is totally insane.

Maybe she could get this outrageous price back in 2006-2007, but not now.

And how many millions did she put back into it. Maybe 3-6 million?

Even with the expensive updates she can only get her money back if she is lucky!

Also, the retro interior would maybe go over big in Leisure World or old Palm Springs, but not with a serious buyer looking for a stable long term investment to flip.

  14. Anonymous says:

That is not a home. It is an ice cold, unsafe, ugly museum. No man with a family of small children would buy it.
    42Mil? – She is delusional.
This house explains why Aniston is still single and likely to remain so. What possessed her to build this monstrosity? This woman has no taste.

  15. Anonymous says:

It’s not even a pretty house, it’s like a museum. I don’t know where she gets off bumping the price up 30 mil – LA people are a breed unto themselves. Jeez, you can get a 50-acre farm in Alabama for less than a mil, and not have to deal with paparazzi.

  16. Jeannified says:

LOVE this house! (Especially the beautiful wooden chairs around her breakfast table!) The whole place if FANTASTIC!!! Still…who in the world would pay $42 million for that place. PLEASE!!!!

She’s looking at Lisa Vanderpump’s place? That totally doesn’t seem like her style. I would lvoe to see her touring the plaace on the next season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills!”

Hmmm…I wonder if Brad Pitt is gonna buy her place. It certainly looks like a place he’d choose! I could just see him, George, Matt and the rest of the guys hanging out there all chicly dressed and sipping martini’s.

  17. Anonymous says:

Maybe the rumors about her and
    Gyllenhaal are true. Everyone
knows that you put your house in
AD for one reason, to sell it.
I agree with those who think this was a project for her & once she
had to live in it, she opted that she didn’t want to. She has been living in her small house on Blue Jay for years now, I’m sure she has put money into that house since she and Pitt lived there.
Maybe she is just in the market to have some fun and make some money, it is a buyers market. Don’t forget that Aniston put the Pitt/Aniston home on the market for 38m after they split. Not sure what she got, but it wasn’t all that horrible.

  18. MarkyMark says:

And I suppose that the eventual buyer will rip out everything she’s done and start over…

  19. Anonymous says:

Totally agree with anon 2:43, this is a man’s house, a sleek, Hollywood bachelor pad, perfect for a Brad Pitt or a George Clooney type, there’s nothing feminine about it, it totally reeks of having tried to build a place to either woo Brad back with, or at the very least, piss Brad off by building a house he would love, and now that she’s finally over him or given up on ever getting back with him, its time for her to sell and move on.

  20. dolly says:

I have to agree with anon 2:43. She must have known when she bought it that the Sierra Towers folks could see into the backyard. This just seems like it was a project she undertook for the express purpose of appearing on the cover of Arch Digest. I do think she is very funny and attractive but I don’t believe she ever intended to live in this house.

  21. Ginko says:

Just leave Jenn alone- it’s disturbing how “you all” pick pick and pick on this person and her home. Yeah, she made lots of money
from that awful T.V. show and spent oodles on this home- so be it- in 10yrs. she and her homes will be forgotton- that’s the way it is in Hollywoodland.

  22. Anonymous says:

it’s because she and Ms. Cox are on the outs.

  23. Anonymous says:

I think this house was just a massive, post-divorce “F*%K YOU!” to her architecture and house restoring ex-hubby Mr. Pitt, and now that it’s completed (and/or the heartbreak has finally worn off), she realized it’s a house that she did more to prove something to him than it is one she would actually like to live in herself, and that’s why she’s selling…personally, given her personality, I see a big tacky place in Beverly Park being a perfect match for her, she reminds me of every spoiled princess who thinks she’s hotter than she actually is that I grew up with in the wealthy suburbs in the 1980’s…this super-stylish renovation had all about “trying to be” and not “who I am” when it comes to her, in my humble opinion…

  24. Anonymous says:

For $42M, does she come with the house?

  25. Anonymous says:

Anyone else notice that Google Earth’s view is redded-out after several seconds? I read there’s a way to block Google Earth’s view, seems this has been done.

  26. Anonymous says:

If her cooch is as cold as that house, it’s no wonder she can’t keep a man.

Will not sell at 42. It will be on the market for years, just like Suzanne, Candy and the rest of the overpriced homes in West LA.

  27. Anonymous says:

Maybe Gahdaffi has $42 mil to spend on a “getaway home”….

  28. Anonymous says:

    @ Anon 10:50 — Hi, Rosette!

  29. Anonymous says:

Is it a crazy coincidence that she is selling the one I sold her and looking to buy the Beverly Park house I sold the Todds? Will she next want the one I am living in now? Somebody should make a movie about all this.

  30. Anonymous says:

    Nice but not 42m nice.

I happen to have been in both Miss Aniston homes: the Blue Jay home and the home she was redoing with Mr. Pitt. and i got to say the Blue Jay home was shockingly modest but all accounts. Small, cramped rooms, a small pool that complete used up all the backyard. furnishings from a mid 90’s Z Gallery store. It was surprising that an A-list couple were living in such humble digs.

The BH Ridgedale Dr home was a spectacular mansion. Grand without being showing, the over all scale of the rooms worked well. the finishings were elegant and warm, it felt like a lived in home.

Her new place although nice doesn’t have the BH classic mansion vibe. It looks like a big 70’s ranch house on steroids.

“Ohana” means family in Hawaiian. An odd choice of name for a single girl with no kids.

Perhaps it’s because it will take a person, their family, their extended family, and the extended family’s family to afford this place.

    It is beautiful though….

  32. Anonymous says:

Of course it’s on the market, it was on the cover of AD a while back so it’s a given, right?

I don’t know why, but something about this house gives me the creeps. If I was walking through it alone, i think i would feel like i was in a horror film and a killer was lurking around the corner.

  33. Anonymous says:

The real estate agent should really question is ability to sell it at that price.

Seems to be ANOTHER case of “please give me the listing and i’ll get whatever crazy price you desire…..just give me the listing”.

  34. Anonymous says:

much prefer Sam Maloof’s woodworking to those dining chairs. Of courses they could be Maloof but kinda doubt it.

  35. Anonymous says:

Is it any wonder she bought a Hal Levitt & took great pride in restoring it & creating one of the nicest homes on the market today? This is a woman who was married to Brad Pitt who’s first love is architecture, her best friend is Courtney Cox who again is a lover of architecture, Jen & Brad refurbished their Beverly Hills home on Ridgedale Dr together so is it that big a surprise she’s picked up a lot of knowledge along the way when it comes to architecture/design?

As for her moving to Beverly Park, I can’t see it. She lived in a relatively modest house on Blue Jay Way whilst she was refurbishing this property, she also lived in a modest ‘shack’ on Carbon Beach … Why would she ever consider moving to Beverly Park?

  36. kim23 says:

I think this house is too expensive. She should lower the price. If Aniston reduces the price of the house, she will surely find a buyer soon. Moreover, the best way of selling a Beverly Hills home is through a real estate agent. In my opinion, she should contact Michael Libow because he is one of the most professional agents from Beverly Hills.

  37. Anonymous says:

it certainly has flawless finishes but does look very much like a boutique resort and like a resort I would only want to spend a week there! good luck trying to achieve that asking price when countless stories have been posted of multimillion $ properties being sold at well under asking!!T

  38. Mars says:

The 70’s are calling and they want…well actually they don’t want it back either.

This dream house bore was built from ground up? Mmm, okaaay. Still I guess looking at her career choices it’s clear she doesn’t spend a lot of time in reflection.

  39. Carla Ridge says:

I’d be surprised in the next owner didn’t re-combine the two kitchens; there aren’t that many who need a ‘show’ kitchen AND a ‘service’ kitchen. And I gotta tell you, there are two unforgettable features in the decor that I’ve not seen published:

    1) the four MASSIVE (and utterly flawless) bronze panels that make up the SHORT wall of the Dining Room and which will give anyone pause when considering the actual scale of the room they’re standing in,

and 2) the jewelry display cases with the little disco lights in the wardrobe section of the second dressing room. They ‘come up’ as the lights in the room ‘go down’. Not even in Carrie Bradshaw’s dreams, LOL.

  40. angie says:

Well, she did need some new material for the talk show circuit, and I have to say that listing her home for an unsellable amount and hinting that a move to NY is always a possibility certainly beats jumping on Oprah’s couch.

  41. Anonymous says:

she has as much chance of selling it for 30+ mil as I have of buying it for $3 mil

7:47: “outsided” should have been “outsized”. Sorry.

  44. Anonymous says:

Stop crying wolf, Ms. Aniston, and move to the Big Apple pronto…hopefully you’ll be emoting the challenging role of a crack-addicted Bowery whore with the nasty habit of occasionally castrating your johns in an Off-Broadway play by LaBute or Letts or Mamet…because no one cares about your Hal Levitt-this and your Balinese modern-that when your artistic output has been so consistently toothless,
profoundly lazy, utterly meaningless, and hopelessly out-of-sync with the times.

And the new do? Show it to the New York stage critics… and try not to remember what they wrote about Julia Roberts.

  45. Anonymous says:

Wikipedia reports that she gave all of a half million $ (more or less a tip to her) to Doctors Without Borders and “supports” (meaning I presume “appears on behalf of”) other charities. I don’t consider that a celebrity’s lending her face to a charity amounts to much, since the publicity obtained is likely to be largely self-interested. It is noteworthy how many Tinseltown stars lavish vast monies on houses and relative pittances on charities. Some might even call them selfish and “greedy”.

  46. Anonymous says:

Does the price include the furnishings, sans art collection?

As someone commented a few posts back in regards to the idea that Denise Richards might be moving to Mulholland Estates, there is no way on God’s green earth that Jennifer Aniston is moving to Beverly Park.

It’s not entirely logical, but Jennifer seems to be operating on a completely different (higher) level (at least in the aesthetics department) than anyone or anything in BP.

  47. Housey says:

I don’t care how much work she put into this place, it’s not worth $42million and it will never sell for that. She should have priced it in the 20s if she wanted it sold.

  48. StPaulSnowman says:

Thank God it’s official……… I will be able to sleep again.

  49. Anonymous says:

The place looks like a boutique hotel. She is single, is she not?, without kids or family to house, and not given to putting on constant lavish parties, so what on earth is the point of such an abode? I would suspect much of this taste for outsided housing is simply the wish to proclaim to the world that you have money to burn (on yourself) when of course she should be using it for charitable giving if she were really a decent human being.
