Pioneering video producer/distributor raises output
In a demonstration of the value of library content, Videofashion Network will launch “Videofashion Daily,” a high-def web series where new episodes can be screened every day on demand.“Videofashion Daily” is made up of nine Videofashion-branded subseries featuring seasonal designer collections, specials, designer profiles, model features, people, style, classics and eyecandy – for a total of 365 new programs every year. All are available for distribution worldwide to all media outlets, including broadcast, cable, broadband, mobile and apps. “Videofashion Daily is the new cornerstone of the Videofashion Network of 12 ongoing series, making Videofashion the world’s largest producer of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle programs,” said Marlene Cardin, Videofashion CEO and co-founder. Videofashion launched the world’s first video magazine, “Videofashion News,” 35 years ago. In 1980 it became a quarterly, in 1987 a monthly and in 1995 it went weekly. Now “Videofashion Daily” has expanded to 365 new half-hour programs available daily, starting in January, 2012, when they’ll be posted every day on the protected Videofashion Daily website. The 35 year old Videofashion library boasts 18,000 hours of unedited footage, 13,000 segments and 1,800 completed programs. “Without our library, we could never produce a new program every day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year,” said Anne V. Adami, Videofashion founding managing editor. “Combining ‘Videofashion Daily’ with the huge inventory of Videofashion Network programs, Videofashion can program an entire fashion or women’s channel with more than 1,000 hours of content,” added company co-founder and editorial director Nicolas Charney.
