That didn’t take long. Verizon-iphone-sold-out

Verizon has halted pre-orders of the iPhone after less than a day, saying that they have sold out of their pre-sale units. Your only chance to get one now – short of waiting for the restocking, of course – is to wait until Feb. 9 at 3:01am and try to grab one online or show up at your local Verizon store at 7am on Feb. 10.

Don’t expect a long wait for the restocking, of course – but this certainly underscores how big demand has been for the iPhone on Verizon’s network. Initial reviews of the phones running on Verizon have been largely positive, with fewer dropped calls and reports of clearer reception.

One thing to keep in mind amidst this mad rush, Verizon is simply selling the iPhone 4 right now. In a few months, Apple will roll out the next generation of iPhones – which will lower the cost of this model and give you a newer version to lust after (or regret not waiting for). Something to keep in mind before you camp out for a new phone.
