UCLA, USC sked Transmedia meet

Symposium takes place this Friday

UCLA and USC will team this Friday for the Transmedia, Hollywood 2: Visual Culture and Design symposium at UCLA’s James Bridges Theater.

The all-day event, which caters to pros and academics, is open to the public and will focus on the present challenges and future possibilities of designing transmedia franchises.

Highlights include “Avatar” production designer Rick Carter on the panel “Come Out 2 Play: Designing Virtual Worlds”; DC Entertainment chief creative officer Geoff Johns on “We’re Looking for Characters: Designing Personalities Who Play Across Platforms”; and Disney Interactive senior VP of global marketing Craig Relyea on “Game On!: Intelligent Design or Fan Aggregators?”
