Simon Fleming-Wood has joined Pandora Media as chief marketing officer, marking the Internet radio leader’s first major executive expansion since going public this summer.
A VP of marketing at Pure Digital Technologies since 2002, Fleming-Wood was a key exec responsible for the development of the Flip Video camera. After PDT was acquired by Cisco in 2009, Fleming-Wood became VP of marketing for Cisco Consumer Products group.
“Simon’s entrepreneurial spirit, history of driving business growth and experience in creating beloved brands and products are all attributes,” said Pandora prexy-CEO Joe Kennedy.
“We’re very pleased he’s here.”
Pandora made a splash on the market when it went public in June and currently has a market cap of around $2.5 billion. Yet the past few months have seen increasing competition from Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio platform, as well as indirect pressure from music streaming services.
