CinemaNow adds HD films on PCs

Intel processors embed Best Buy-owned service

Best Buy digital streaming service CinemaNow has added high-definition movies from Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox to PCs carrying Intel Insider technology.

1080p HD titles will be available for rental or purchase on computers carrying second-generation Intel Core processors, which have sold an estimated 75 million units. Intel Insider is a security feature preventing piracy on PCs.

CinemaNow only offered movies and TV shows in standard definition to date; library totaled 15,000 titles. HD capability was first unveiled back in January at Consumer Electronics Show, when Intel Insider was known as Sandy Bridge.
