Cinesite, Films at 59, Red Giant

Cinesite has won a significant amount of vfx work for Paramount’s “World War Z,” directed by Marc Forster and starring Brad Pitt. Film, set for a 2012 release, is based on Max Brooks’ post-apocalyptic horror novel.


U.K. post house Films at 59 has bought a Quantel Pablo PA as part of its move into stereo 3D. The system will be put to work processing digital capture files, performing stereo fixes and assembling stereo conforms.


On-screen beauty got a boost with the release of Magic Bullet Suite 11 by vfx tools developer Red Giant. Software consists of nine software applications for color correction, enhancement and film output – and includes a new tool for skin smoothing and cosmetic effects.
