Appointments at City Films, ADG, Cinedigm, Prasad, Image Systems, Brainstorm

City Films’ directorial roster now includes Kelly Hommon, who joins helmers David Denneen, Derek McKane, Phil Meatchem and Sandy Smolan. Sheila Tighe and Josie Leonard, co-founders of City Films, made the announcement. Through her new association Hommon just completed filming docu “A Legacy of Hope,” about The Raisa Gorbachev Foundation, helping raise nearly $2 million for children being treated for cancer.

The Art Directors Guild had renewed the contract of exec director Scott Roth for three years, to 2014. ADG prexy Tom Walsh made the announcement. Roth has held the position since 1997. Following recent mergers, the 75-year-old, 2,000-member ADG now reps production designers, art directors, scenic and graphic artists, set designers and model makers, illustrators, and storyboard, matte and previs artists.

Cinedigm Digital Cinema named Adam Mizel as COO and CFO, and Gary Loffredo as prexy of digital cinema services. Loffredo will also continue as General Counsel. Both will continue reporting to CEO Chris McGurk. Mizel will focus on the development of Cinedigm’s software and content businesses. Loffredo will work with the digital cinema team to help expand the company’s digital cinema deployment and servicing operations.

Prasad Corp. named Paul Stambaugh as senior VP, North America, with responsibility for managing the company’s digital media services in the territory. Reporting to Prasad Corp. prexy Sai Prasad, Stambaugh brings more than four decades of experience in managing film labs, video and digital post services and is an expert in film restoration and preservation, most recently serving as managing director of Technicolor’s film laboratory and post-production facility in Bangkok, Thailand. Prasad Corp. offers restoration, 2D-to-3D conversion and vfx.

Image Systems named DI colorist Adam Hawkey to the company’s staff of strategic consultants. Hawkey has been working with Image Systems on consulting projects and now comes on board as staff. He’ll work with clients in the integration of Image Systems products into facilities and will lead company training initiatives. Hawkey previously worked as the senior digital colorist at iOFilm/The Post Group for nine years. His recent credits include “Higher Ground,” “The Last Exorcism,” “Passion Play,” and “The Devil Inside.” Image Systems Media Unit, formerly Digital Vision, is a division of Stockholm-headquartered Image Systems AB.

Brainstorm Digital’s New York vfx studio named Eran Dinur as visual effects supervisor. Dinur served as Brainstorm’s composting supervisor for the past year. Previously he was senior compositor at Industrial Light and Magic Singapore and at Framestore NY. He has created visual effects for such films as “Iron Man,” “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” “Star Trek,” “Terminator Salvation,” “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and “Salt.” At Brainstorm Dinur will supervise HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” and History’s “The Men Who Built America.”
